I will start posting pictures and videos I took with my new camera. It is a Canon 60D - more on that later.
These pictures will probably be shabby at first and improve as I go. Such is the (re)learning process.
I receive the camera in 45 minutes. I am starting with a kit lens. Stay tuned.
I hope to post a picture a day.
Earlier this year I bought a small travel trailer to move in. I thought it would be a little bit of work. But it turned out to be much more.
I’m not a carpenter. I don’t work with wood. I was winging the whole thing.
I took some pictures along the way. I just finished all the paint this weekend. I made it into a creamsicle on the inside. Next weekend trim and cabinets will be started upon! Then finally, a wood floor and decoration. It has been a long trip.
I was going to wait until this was 100% to share pictures, but this will be fun anyway.
Here is how it began. The wall had water damage so I thought I would just repair the corner and be done:

I was wrong. There was a lot more water damage that I thought. I’ll eventually post the rest of my photos, but I’m just focusing on one corner. I started to rebuild the framework on the entire trailer:

Once I made a new framework and felt confident on how sturdy everything felt, I started to replace the walls:

Once the walls were replaced and sanded, I primed them with an orange tint primer, which dried to be a horrid pink. I also stripped and painted the ceiling an offwhite called “sand trap.”

The primer dried really well, and I put two coats of satin “Burst of Orange” paint. The pictures make it look much brighter than it is. In regular lighting it is a nice, mellow orange that will look great in a warm tungsten light.

This makes it look a little better, not as bright and glaring:

The next coming weeks will be very exciting with floors, cabinets, decorations, and then packing. It will have a small fridge, 12v and 110v lighting, a small stove, lots of storage and other nifty tricks.
Then into the great beyond!
Finally got a new, true rear wheel. Resurfaced the drum, installed the sprocket and gave everything a twice-over. Here is it in the swingarm.
I’m building the headlight as we speak, then after that it is just small adjustments here and there, cosmetic stuff on the tank and the seat. Once I install the airbox the carbs should level out. I think the lines on this bike are spot on. What do you think?
One part of the salvage yard I went to today, in the middle of nowhere (Sam’s Valley).
Got a new rear wheel and mounted the tire. Also picked up a new headlight trim ring, which will be painted flat black. Got home and a brand new sealed beam headlight was waiting for me at the mailbox.
